Beautiful

Any update of my past summer would not be complete without writing about Jennifer. As a brief history, Jennn (yeah that is 3 n's) and I knew each other from church since we were little and then dated in high school for about a year. But then after a few months of college (and Captive Free, a traveling youth ministry band, for her) we broke up. We kind of lost contact after that for a while, but a couple years later started to rebuild the friendship we had let slip away, and then about a year ago our friendship started to turn into more.

We officially starting dating again this past spring, and in May she graduated from Concordia, Irvine, and soon moved back to New Jersey. Since then I've been down in Fair Lawn, New Jersey sleeping on the couch and hanging out with her and her family about every weekend (and some weeknights). It was a grand old time. We saw nearly every movie available, visited with family, ate out, cooked in, as well as went on a Hudson river tour, attended a 50th anniversary renewal of wedding vows ceremony and reception, and saw a Broadway show. So if you've noticed a lack of updates to spartlow.com the past few months, you now know why.

But the dream summer couldn't last forever. Jennn, a week ago today, started her two-year internship in Bratislava, Slovakia. She's over there teaching English in a Lutheran school, and helping out in the church. Meanwhile I'm still working away in Poughkeepsie, New York, USA. But I suspect it won't be too long till I'm taking a week to fly over there. (Just as soon as I get more vacation time from work.) She has only occasional internet access, but if you'd like to write her just send a note to jennn@spartlow.com.

So that was my summer. I just had to share. What have you been doing?

Steve
